Duties
The Media Services & IT Assistant is responsible for providing a wide range of hands-on IT and multimedia technical assistance. This includes managing service calls and tickets, scheduling repairs, and maintaining equipment, both hardware and software systems. Additionally, this position also supports video production and provides technical support to events on campus. The Assistant provides customer service to diverse groups, including students, faculty, staff, and members of the general public.
Desirable Qualifications
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1) Office & Gear Room:
- Service calls, emails, tickets, and walk-ins for tech support
- Scheduling of repairs and services
- Student supervision
- Equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair
- Loaner gear check out/check in
- Gear delivery and retrieval
2) Video Production:
- File format conversion
- Live streaming
- Live event video and audio recording
3) Technical Support:
- Troubleshoot and repair IT/AV hardware and software systems
- Faculty, staff, and student technical assistance
4) Additional Campus Support
- IT and AV Event support
- IT and AV Installation support
5) Other Duties as Assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School diploma required; College degree preferred
- Experience: 2-3 Years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and training
- Ability to evaluate and solve problems
- Able to provide polite and helpful customer service via email, phone, and in-person conversations
- Flexibility to pivot to a variety of technical tasks
- Technical skills in repair and operation of electronics
- Basic knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
- California drivers license
- Capable of physically demanding tasks such as running cables through walls and lifting 40-pound objects
- Basic knowledge of audio/video editing and conversion software
- Fosters an environment of teamwork and integrity
- An expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and a SDA church member in good and regular standing.
Compensation
Hourly; $19.48 – $24.37 (plus denominational benefits, depending upon qualifications and experience)
