Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Presidential Message

President TrecartinPacific Union College is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment where everyone feels welcome and supported in their journeys through life. We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are imperative to the enrichment of campus life, and that through the incorporation of diversity we can learn to expand our worldviews, serve a greater community, and teach more effectively. We stand against discrimination and uphold the value that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

As we prepare our students for their professional careers, we seek to cultivate a space in which they can learn to look beyond their personal biases, as well as appreciate their own heritage and background. As a Seventh-day Adventist institution, we are called to serve all of God’s children, because while we are all created in the image of God, we are not homogenous. We recognize that each individual has unique needs, and we strive to create a community of belonging so that all members of the PUC family have the opportunity to grow and succeed in life. Scripture compels us to do justice and love kindness, and we believe that by adhering to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, we can fulfill that mission.

We acknowledge that there is always room for learning and growth, as both an institution and a community, and aspire to establish ourselves as an all-affirming campus. We invite you to explore the DEI resources to learn more about our initiatives, and how we are committing ourselves and our campus to achieve these goals.
