Welcome to Pioneer Splash Academy, your destination for high-quality swim instruction through PUC’s Community Recreation Department. Whether you're introducing your baby to the water for the first time or have a child ready to build confidence in the pool, our certified instructors are here to help every swimmer feel safe, strong, and empowered in the water.

Summer Session Schedule
1st session: June 23 - 26; June 30 - July 3
2nd session: July 7 - 10; July 14 - 17
- Parent and Me (ages 5-12 months): 30 minutes, max 4 students
9 - 9:30 a.m. - Bubble Ducklings (Level 1): 30 minutes, max 4 students
9:40 - 10:10 a.m. - Jumpin’ Frogs (Level 2): 30 minutes, max 4 students
10:20 - 10:50 a.m. - Kickin’ Dolphins (Level 3): 30 minutes, max 4 students
11 - 11:30 a.m. - Speedy Turtles (Level 4): 45 minutes, max 4 students
11:40 a.m. - 12:10 p.m. - Gliding Whales (Level 5): 45 minutes, max 4 students
12:20 - 12:50 p.m.

This Parent Contract outlines the terms and expectations for families participating in group swim lessons at Pioneer Splash Academy.

Please complete one form per student. All information is confidential and used solely for enrollment and safety purposes.
Swim Session Levels
The Pioneer Splash Academy follows the structured program developed by the American Red Cross, which is divided into six levels.
Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills
- Helps students feel comfortable in the water.
- Skills: Enter/exit water safely, blow bubbles, submerge mouth/nose/eyes, float with support, basic arm and leg movements.
Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills
- Builds on Level 1 and introduces basic self-help and safety skills.
- Skills: Submerge completely, float without support, rhythmic breathing, front/back glide, combined arm and leg actions.
Level 3: Stroke Development
- Develops front crawl and introduces elementary backstroke.
- Skills: Rotary breathing, front crawl for 15 yards, survival float, treading water, basic diving from sitting/kneeling.
Level 4: Stroke Improvement
- Improves skills and builds endurance.
- Skills: Swim 25 yards front crawl and elementary backstroke, introduce breaststroke, back crawl, sidestroke, turns.
Level 5: Stroke Refinement
- Refines strokes and increases distances.
- Skills: Coordination and endurance for front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, butterfly; flip turns.
