Duties

Reporting to the VP of Academic Administration, The Dean of the School of Sciences, and Chair of the Psychology and Social Work Department, duties include: directing the Social Work Program;  serving on the program’s Advisory Board, participating in program admissions, program development, and program evaluation and accreditation processes; teaching upper and lower division courses covering topics such as social welfare policy, human behavior in the social environment, and practice theory; assessing course and major student learning outcomes, maintaining and distributing timely student grade reports, planning and updating course materials and methods of instruction, keeping regular office hours for advising students, advising/mentoring students on academic and career-related issues, participating in department activities/events, participating in the campus governance structure, and completing other duties as assigned.

This position may also include the opportunity to serve as Chair of the Department of Psychology and Social Work, depending on qualifications, experience, and institutional needs.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) and 2 years post-M.S.W. practice experience
  • Doctorate preferred
  • Administrative experience
  • Experience with C.S.W.E. accreditation
  • Track record of excellence in social work practice and field experience
  • Experience in undergraduate teaching and/or conducting training
  • Ability to connect with students and work well with colleagues in a group setting

Compensation

Salary; 58,797 to $78,626 (plus denominational benefits, depending upon qualifications and experience).
