Installing Ad-aware
- Go to the Download.com
- Click "Download Now" (Be sure to save it to a place where you can find it. For example, the Desktop.)
- Double-Click on the file you just downloaded
- Click "Next"
- Click the box next to "I accept the license agreement"
- Click "Next" four times
- Click "Finish"
- The program should run automatically
- Click "Webupdate" (This is a picture of a planet in the upper right hand corner of the Ad-Aware window.)
- Click "Connect"
- Click "OK" (This will only be if it finds updates--usually when you first install, it will.)
- Click "Finish"
- Click "Start"
- Select "Smart Scan"
- Click "Next" (This could take 10-15 min.)
- Click "Next" (This is only if it finds spy/ad-ware on your computer. If it doesn't find anything, click "Finish.")
- If all the boxes are selected then click "Next," otherwise, right-click on one of the boxes, and go to "Select all objects." Then click "Next."
- Click "OK"
