Housing Department- Seeking student employees for the summer. Two positions available. The first position available is a general student worker. Requirements include a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Experience in janitorial, painting, yard work, and possibly skilled labor in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry is preferred but not required. The second position is secretary/cleaning. TutoringThe TLC is looking for tutors for the summer. Applicants must be responsible and dependable, at least a sophomore, have the ability to explain concepts well to peers, and excel in one (or more) of the following subjects:  BIOL  101, 102, and/or  111-113; CHEM 101 and/or  111-113; Writing Lab; FDNT 235 (Nutrition); Nursing Classes; PHYS 111-113; and STAT 222. Boy’s Counselor PacificQuest is looking for a boy’s counselor for the week of July 17 – July 22. The boy’s counselor is responsible for the direct supervision of PacificQuest students (ages 13-15). The counselor is typically responsible for 8-12 boys who stay in Newton. Preference is given to students who are NOT enrolled in a summer course. Specific responsibilities include:  Assisting the Camp Director in registering and welcoming students/parents, ensuring students are ready for the day and to worship on time, taking students to and from different activities, directly supervising students during free-time, assisting the Camp Director in making sure the students participate and behave appropriately during programs, checking students in at bedtime and ensuring they stay there from 10PM until the morning, and serving as a positive role model that students will respect. The boys’ counselor stipend starts at $400, dorm room, and meals for the week. The pay increases for counselors who work with PacificQuest for more than one summer. Worship Leader PacificQuest is looking for a worship leader for the week of July 17 – July 22. The worship leader is responsible for providing a twenty minute morning worship at 7:30 AM in the amphitheater for PacificQuest students (ages 13-15). Specific responsibilities include:  Planning and providing worship each morning, Monday through Thursday. Worship should include a few songs, a short object lesson related to the classes the students are taking, and prayer. This year classes include science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The worship leader receives a $100 cash gift and is welcome to join the rest of the staff for meals provided by PacificQuest at the Dinning Commons. Academic Service-Learning Student opening as Service-Learning Coordinator Assistant. Position would start the first week of Fall Quarter, wage rate is hourly, hours would be about ten per week. Duties include but are not limited to:  managing online service-learning database, coordinating transportation and drivers, collecting and recording quarterly service-learning hours, gathering content for annual newsletter, potentially driving for activities, recruiting and coordinating volunteers for Angwin to Angwish and other service-learning oriented events. Desirable skills:  punctual and highly organized, professional writing for marketing material and emails, understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Drive/Docs, and experience or training in marketing and social media. Visual Arts Department Thinking of staying at PUC for the summer? The visual arts department is hiring. Individual must be willing and able to do heavy lifting and deep cleaning. Will be working 20+ hours per week and there will be 2 to 4 weeks of work, starting immediately after school. Cogen/Heating Plant Position The facilities management department is looking for students who can work at least ten hours a week, are responsible and willing to learn, can work during the school year and during breaks, has a valid CA driver’s license with a clear driving record, and is willing to be trained in stream line/heating/electrical systems. Facilities Management Position­ ­–The facilities management department is looking for a freshman or sophomore student, who plans to stay at PUC through their senior year, to perform monthly inspections on fire extinguishers in campus buildings and vehicles. Must be a very dependable, hard-working student who is able to work with minimal supervision once training is completed. Since training is lengthy, a long-term commitment to this job is necessary. Sports Writing Opportunity - The Athletics Department is looking for a non student athlete to help facilitate in writing some of the articles on the Athletics website. The job requirements are: General knowledge about Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball and Cross country, can understand game statistics, and a great writer.
