Public Safety - (707-965-6551) is accepting applications from students interested in working as either a Communications Dispatcher and/or Campus Patrol Officer. These are continuous filling/recruitment positions. Although upperclassmen are preferred, all applications can be accepted and students can be employed from all grade levels. Public Safety does perform a background review on all applicants, with specific personal traits expected to include: dependability, reliability, ethical work habits, responsibility, and diligence. Lifeguard (Pay Range $10.00 – $13.00)

Maintains constant vigilance over patrons, is responsible for rescues of persons in distress, renders first aid when needed, and enforces all rules and regulations pertaining to the safety and well-being of patrons and visitors at the swim center. Other facility responsibilities as needed. Must Possess: Minimum of 15 years of age; current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or comparable and approved certifying agency) which includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard First Aid which meets Title 22 requirements. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Swim Instructor (Pay Range $10.00-$11.00)

Organizes and instructs classes for all levels of swimming, maintains constant vigilance over participants; completes records and reports as needed. Other facility responsibilities as needed. Standards: Minimum of 15 years of age, ability to life up to 50 lbs required , experience teaching children swimming is highly desirable. Swim instructor training is provided by the City of Calistoga Recreation Services. Hours are morning and afternoon Monday through Thursday.

Head Lifeguard (Pay Range $13.00-$15.00)

Supervision of the lifeguards and volunteers. Communicates with staff and public on programs and problems and duties as required to manage a public pool. Performs routine and special maintenance duties as needed. Must possess: American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certification from or other approved by certifying agency; current Certified Pool Operators Certification is a plus. Previous supervisor experience preferred.

This student would mainly serve as a companion and do some light, personal duties around the apartment. A family in St. Helena is looking for a part time nanny to care for two 19 month old twins (boy and girl) Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm beginning in the middle of April. Location has great indoor and outdoor space. Responsibilities would include putting the safety of the children first before all other responsibilities, diaper changing at regular intervals, feeding snacks and lunches, laundering children’s clothes and folding, reading and other learning activities, and light housekeeping (cleaning up toys, disposing of diaper bags, washing twins after meals). Desired qualifications include experience with young children, at least 20 years old and physically active, good driving record, current with immunizations and vaccinations, CPR certified or willingness to become certified. AVID Tutors St. Helena Unified School District is accepting applications for AVID tutors (Advancement Via Individual Determination). Seven positions need to be filled at St. Helena High School, and four positions need to be filled at RLS Middle School. Tutoring would take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays and hours would vary between one and two hours a day. Position requires knowledge of algebra, geometry, and/or calculus, science and writing. Well-developed human relations skills are needed to inspire students and serve as a role model. Must complete 16 hours of training on-line to be a certified tutor. Beginning date will be November 18, 2013 and pay will vary between $11.95-$17.50/ hour depending on experience. Applicants who have already worked for AVID need only submit a letter of intent to Cindy Toews (Attn: Dr. Cindy Toews). Applicants who have not worked for AVID must submit an application, cover letter, resume, and two current letters of recommendation. Deadline for applicant submission is November 12, 2013 at 4 pm.
