PacificQuest & PQ Rise
Summer 2023
Each is a week-long summer “camp” held on the PUC campus for students who are inquisitive, motivated, enjoy STEM subjects, and want to be challenged academically. Students will participate in daily academic programming, recreational opportunities, team-building exercises, and evening activities. Students who complete the program earn 1 unit of college credit.
PacificQuest 2023 (Grades 6-8)
When: July 2-7
Where: Pacific Union College, Angwin, California
Cost: $630
Earn 1 college credit!
PacificQuest is open to students who can meet the following admission criteria:
- Completed grades 6, 7, or 8 by the program start date
- Scored in the 90th percentile or higher on the STEM portions of standardized tests
- Highly recommended by teacher(s) and/or principal
- Transcripts that show high achieving academic performance
Highlights include:
- Independence Day (4th of July) theme
- Learn about the fundamental principles of energy and its release – explosions! – directly from PUC math and science professors
- Hands-on learning in laboratory and field settings
- Discover the history of explosions, the art of the American Revolution, as well the music and sound effects associated with explosions – all from PUC’s arts and humanities professors.

PQRise 2023 (Grades 9-11)
When: July 9-14
Where: Pacific Union College, Angwin, California
Cost: $630
Earn 1 college credit!
PQ Rise is open to high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who meet the admission criteria:
- Completion of grades 9, 10, or 11 by the program start date
- 90th percentile or higher scores on STEM sections of the most current standardized test
- High recommendations from teachers and/or principal
- Transcripts reflecting high achieving academics

Highlights include:
- A program based on the Interdisciplinary Nature of Human Medicine
- Learn about the human body, including the areas of neuroscience, histology, and biochemistry
- Work with data sets to uncover significant trends in medicine
- Practice the language of medicine – medical terminology and how best to communicate with patients with limited English proficiency
- PUC pre-med students and those currently in medical school will share their experiences
- Physicians who are PUC alumni will share their experiences in the medical field
