Think you might like to be a part of the PUC community? The first thing to do is to fill out our online application. Once you've done that, simply follow the rest of the Steps to Apply for the category that applies to you. If you're confused by any of the steps or can't find the necessary contact information, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-862-7080.

Steps to Apply - for Freshmen

  1. Fill out the online PUC application
  2. Send PUC your transcripts and references (constituent schools provide to PUC)
  3. Send PUC your SAT or ACT test scores
  4. Fill out the FAFSA online (after January 1)

After you have been accepted:

  1. Set up your Lantern account
  2. Call the Student Finance office and talk with a financial counselor
  3. Fill out your residence hall reservation and pay your room reservation fee
  4. Turn in forms and information to Health Services (this is required!)
  5. Register for classes by speaking with an enrollment counselor. Call 1-800-862-7080 option 2 or (707) 965-6336. Or schedule an appointment by email.
  6. Pack up and come to PUC

Steps to Apply - for Transfer Students

  1. Fill out the online PUC application
  2. Send PUC your transcripts
    • 30 semester units above 2.0 are transferable
    • A high school transcript is required if you have less than 30 semester units, and recommended even if you have 30 semester units or more
  3. Send PUC your SAT or ACT scores if you have not had College Algebra or English 101.
  4. Send PUC recommendations
    • Three recommendations if you attended a non-Adventist college
    • One recommendation from dean or student life office if transferring from an Adventist college

After you have been accepted:

  1. Set up your Lantern account
  2. Call the Student Finance office and talk with a financial counselor
  3. Fill out your residence hall reservation and pay your room deposit

Steps to Apply - for International Students

  1. Fill out the online PUC application
  2. Send PUC your transcripts
    • 30 semester units above 2.0 are transferable
    • A high school transcript is required
  3. Send PUC your TOEFL and SAT or ACT scores. You must have one of the following:
    • TOEFL of at least 195, computer-based, OR
    • TOEFL of at least 70, Internet-based, OR
    • SAT verbal/critical reading of at least 360, OR
    • ACT English of at least 14
  4. Send PUC three recommendations
  5. Send PUC documentation of your financial plan, including a bank statement of at least $35,000.

After you have been accepted:

  1. Set up your Lantern account
  2. Call the Student Finance office and talk with a financial counselor
  3. Fill out your residence hall reservation and pay your room deposit

Steps to Apply - for Degree Completion Program Students

  1. Complete the application form and send to PUC with the $25 non-refundable application fee.
  2. Complete a transcript request form for each college you have attended and send to PUC.
  3. Send PUC documents indicating college-level education or training, such as:
    • Unofficial transcript copies
    • College grade reports
    • CLEP or DANTES scores
    • Military records: DD214 or equivalent
    • Professional licenses
  4. Watch for notification by mail from PUC
  5. Apply for state and federal financial aid (PUC can supply applications).

Finances

In addition to the admissions process, new students need to figure out a plan for paying for college and getting connected with scholarships and loans. While you're still in high school, you and your parents can use the Junior & Senior Checklist. When you get closer to arrival, use the New Students Financial Checklist.
