Pacific Union College offers a variety of pre-professional programs that provide either a four-year degree preparatory to graduate studies or shorter programs providing prerequisites for going on to a bachelor's program at another institution.
Pre-professional programs are offered in dental hygiene and dentistry, providing all the necessary courses for acceptance to the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.
Pre-professional programs are offered in medicine as well as cytotechnology, medical radiography, medical technology, occupational therapy and occupational therapy assisting, osteopathy, physical therapy and physical therapy assisting, physician's assistant, respiratory therapy, and veterinary medicine.
Art therapy is a mental health profession that uses the creative process of making art to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages.
Cytotechnology is a specialty within the broad field of clinical laboratory science. This program prepares the student to enter the B.S. program at Loma Linda University.
This program gives students the requirements for admission to the B.S. dental hygiene program at Loma Linda University.
This program prepares students to enter the School of Dentistry D.D.S. program at Loma Linda University. Applicants to the School of Dentistry must have completed a miniumum of three academic years in an accredited liberal arts college, and a four-year curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree is advantageous.
This program prepares the student for the A.A. degree program in occupational therapy assisting at Loma Linda University.
This program prepares students for admission to the B.S. degree program in occupational therapy at Loma Linda University.
This program prepares students to enter Andrews University’s three-year Professional Physical Therapist Education Program gaining an interim Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree for continuance in the entry level Doctorate of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) program.
Students take this program to prepare for the physical therapist assisting program at Loma Linda University, which leads to the associate in science degree and professional certification. The Loma Linda program begins with the sophomore year.
This program prepares physical therapy students to enter the B.S., M.P.T., or D.P.T. program at Loma Linda University.
Students in this program are prepared to enter the A.S. degree program in medical radiography at Loma Linda University, which prepares the student to take the certification examinations necessary to become a radiologic technologist.
The B.S. degree consists of two years of preparatory courses at PUC and two years of professional courses at Loma Linda University. The B.S. prepares individuals to sit for certification and licensure exams and then to practice as respiratory therapists.
Students wishing to become speech-language pathologists or audiologists can take this two-year pre-professional program. It is designed to articulate with bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Loma Linda University School of Allied health, but the coursework should also transfer to any four-year undergraduate speech pathology program.
Students are advised to complete a bachelor’s degree with the pre-pharmacy requirements offered at PUC before entering the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Loma Linda University.
To obtain a licence, veterinarians must have a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine and pass a State board examination. The pre-veterinary program at PUC prepares students to enter the doctorate program at University of California at Davis.
This program prepares students to enter the two-year M.S. degree in physicians assisting at Loma Linda University.
