Duties:

Serves as the receptionist for the office and the accompanying customer service tasks by performing the following duties.

     
  • Provides accurate information and friendly assistance to all inquirers
  •  
  • Coordinates the operation of the front counter and main telephone line during all regular office hours
  •  
  • Attends to departmental communication media, such as e-mail, mail, faxes, and website
  •  
  • Conducts appropriate registration activities and overrides for students
  •  
  • Solicits roster reports from faculty and notifies students of problems
  •  
  • Assists faculty in submitting and recording final grades at the end of each term
  •  
  • Tracks temporary grades of I, IP, and NR and sends notifications to teachers and students
  •  
  • Reviews and processes grade changes
  •  
  • Processes student forms, such as address changes, name changes, major changes, enrollment verifications, degree verifications, withdrawal from school, ACA applications, Cal Grant applications, and applications for reinstatement of financial aid
  •  
  • Explains the academic policy appeal process to students
  •  
  • Assists with classroom assignments and scheduling requests
  •  
  • Answers questions regarding requests for official transcripts and assists with processing as needed
  •  
  • Assists with training and supervising student employees as needed
  •  
  • Contributes to the maintenance of complete and accurate academic records for students
  •  
  • Implements school policies and procedures regarding student records
  •  
  • Enters proficiency equivalencies from high school transcripts
  •  
  • Confirms student registration to the Student Finance Department for the purpose of veteran benefits certification
  •  
  • Maintains accurate and complete files for all veteran students
  •  
  • Works with the Associate Registrar and the Student Finance Department to assist students with the veteran benefits process and to ensure PUC’s compliance with guidelines for veteran student certification
  •  
  • Monitors and orders office supplies
  •  
  • Assists the Registrar with additional tasks as requested (registration, grades, filing, production of the class schedule, special projects, etc.)
  •  
  • Other duties as assigned

Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four‑year college or university; or minimum of five years experience requiring detail and organizational skills; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
