Construction Set to Begin on The Tonge Media Center in Fisher Hall

Thanks to two recent grants, Pacific Union College’s Department of Visual Arts will begin this spring to construct a new and innovative media center. The Tonge Media Center in Fisher Hall will house an advanced audio and video studio with state-of-the-art technology and equipment. The center will provide high-quality video and audio production access to the entire campus community. Other components of the center will include an office, kitchen, dressing room, and various equipment storage rooms.

Dwight Nelson, the longtime Seventh-day Adventist pastor of the Pioneer Memorial Church, recently retired after 40 years there. Yet, retirement hasn’t dimmed his passion. Instead, he is focused on living on the brink of eternity, the soon return of Jesus, and the undeniable challenges facing America—specifically, religious liberty and the dangerous rise of Christian nationalism.

In Service and Faith: The Inspiring Journeys of Two Couples in Adventist Education

Many alumni have embarked on remarkable journeys of faith and service, particularly as teachers. Among those educators are two couples who stand out as examples of the enduring impact of Seventh-day Adventist education and mission: The Bennies, Matt and Kim, and the Knights, Stacy and Scott. Both couples expressed gratitude to PUC for giving them a strong educational foundation.

PUC Gains Approval to Expand Nursing Program to Sonora

Pacific Union College recently announced that it received state approval for a new nursing training partnership with Adventist Health Sonora. The PUC education center will further the college's goals of growing its nursing program and help meet the rising need for highly qualified healthcare professionals in the Tuolumne County area.

Landon Chamberlain had a burning desire to learn French, so he decided to attend Salève Adventist University this year through Adventist Colleges Abroad. Though he did consider attending ACA in Germany or Austria, his heart knew where it truly wanted to be.

PUC on Broadway: Bringing People Together

From February 3-4, PUC on Broadway was showcased at St. Helena High School Performing Arts Center. People braved the winter weather to watch, but the cast believed it was well worth it. PUC on Broadway is the product of people coming together to try something new. The show was a production where performers sang songs from different Broadway musicals. Where a musical has one cohesive plot–they took Broadway songs and put them out of context.

Meet PUC’s 2023-2024 Student Association President: Kaitlyn Nakanishi

Senior Kaitlyn Nakanishi has previously been a member of the Student Association at Pacific Union College. With a deep love for the college, she wanted to help make a difference in student’s social life following the COVID-19 pandemic where so many students were online and campus culture vanished. Motivated by that feeling, she ran for Student Association president last school year and has been serving that role since the start of the 2023-2024 academic year.

Pioneer Promise Scholarship

PUC wants all students to be able to receive a high-quality Christian education, especially those with the highest needs. The scholarship covers tuition and the general fee and is available to on-campus freshman and transfer students. To qualify, students must accept eligible student Stafford loans. Utilizing a parent loan or parent loan denial for their tuition is not mandatory, but students have the option to use such loans for residence hall costs as needed.

April 19-20: PUC Homecoming

Homecoming is a wonderful opportunity for our alumni, family, and friends to reconnect, reminisce about their days at PUC, and share experiences together. To PUC alumni, we hope to see you and celebrate over 140 years of the college. For more information, please visit puc.edu/homecoming

May 5: Angwin to Angwish 

Set in the richly forested trails of Napa Valley’s Pacific Union College, Angwin to Angwish is a trail run offering incredible natural scenery and challenging courses. The trail run, taking place on Sunday, May 5th, offers 3 different distances: 1 mile kids run, 10k, and 26k. All distances are challenging but a fun event for runners of all ages. The cost for the 26k is $95, $70 for the 10k, and $20 for the 1 mile kids run with no price change. The proceeds from this event will go to benefit the PUC Athletics. June 23-28: PacificQuest

PUC will host a week-long college early summer program held on the campus for students who are interested in STEM, aviation, film, and music. These four camps give students the opportunity to explore college and careers early. Students who complete the program earn 1 unit of college credit. Learn more at puc.edu/pacificquest

June 30 - July 5: PQ Rise

This week-long college early summer program will be held at PUC’s Albion Field Station for students who want to explore marine science and art while experiencing college and careers early. Students will participate in daily academic programming, recreational opportunities, and evening activities. Students who complete the program earn 1 unit of college credit. Learn more at puc.edu/pacificquest
