Duties

Summary: 

The Medical Assistant position for PUC Health Services is an essential member of the health care team. This position is responsible for providing the best experience for every student seen, grounded in Christian service ideals and acquired technical skills. A suitable candidate will have a desire and willingness to assist students towards their personal optimum level of health and healing physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides health information, services, and assistance to PUC students
  • Maintains medical supplies, inventory, and performance of preventative maintenance to keep medical equipment in working order
  • Supply management/expired medication monitoring
  • Assists with office visits:
    • Verifies student information, records medical history, and obtains vital signs
    • Prepares student by performing preliminary diagnostic testing when ordered
    • Counsel student post-visit for follow-up appointment scheduling and answering questions/concerns
  • Assists providers with medical procedures when indicated
  • Maintains confidentiality in completing and securing medical information in charts
  • Assist front office manager with phone calls and email messaging when indicated
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment
  • Updates knowledge by utilizing multiple educational modalities and educational opportunities
  • Additional duties as assigned

Competencies 

Project Manager, organized, efficient, self-starter 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Certified clinical medical assistant (CCMA) or recent LVN licensure or EMT certification
  • Will consider an experienced medical assistant with CCMA to be obtained no later than first six (6) months of employment
  • BLS certified
  • 1+ year(s) medical office experience preferred
