The Disabilities Support Service Coordinator (DSSC) is recognized for its commitment to ensuring that all students with disabilities have equal access to educational opportunities at Pacific Union College. They provide academic support by determining reasonable and appropriate services and accommodations for students with disabilities. The DSSC position will involve planning, developing, and implementing programs, processes, and activities for students with disabilities in accordance with federal and state law.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or above.
  • Working knowledge of a wide variety of disabilities, their impact, and reasons for specific accommodations
  • Know disability accommodation legislation, including ADA, ADA Amended Acts, Section 504, relevant case law and appropriate support services, and accommodation methods for college students.
  • Have good interpersonal skills, including interacting professionally, sharing and gathering information, and responding appropriately to address student, faculty, and staff needs.
  • Leadership in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and new initiatives for students with disabilities.
