Office Description: The SA President serves as the face of the Pacific Union College student body. The president is expected to be aware of what issues are arising on campus and serve as a liaison between the student body and the administration. If excellence in certain areas of student life is lacking on campus, it is the SA President's duty to find ways to meet the needs of the students. The SA President is responsible for organizing SA officer meetings, attending Senate meetings, meeting with the College President and Vice President of Student Services separately, meeting with the Board of Trustees, and attending other miscellaneous meetings to keep informed on the status of the various departments of the college. The SA President is expected to undertake personal projects throughout the year, coordinate the Pioneer Posse and, with the help of the other SA officers, organize the seven SA Colloquies of the scholastic year.

Executive Vice-President
Contact: 6743
Bio:
Office Description: As Executive Vice President my primary job is to arrange for and preside over all of the meetings for the PUC SA Senate. This is the assembly of our student representatives who have decided to make a difference and have embraced the responsibility that representing their peers entails. Senate provides us, the students, with a great opportunity to let our voices, our thoughts, and our concerns be heard. Even more than that, it allows us to create and implement change. The only thing constant is change. Through the voices of our student leaders, we are changing and striving to guarantee that PUC maintains its high standards of excellence. Two other responsibilities that remain at the forefront of the Executive Vice President's job are the organization of town halls and the elections of SA officers, Senators-at-Large, and District Senators.

Social Vice-President

Office Description: The position of Social Vice President entails the responsibility of providing the student body with an array of social activities. There is no other SA office to rival the importance and influence on campus of the Social Vice– at least I'd like to think so. One of my primary responsibilities is to have an event planned for each Saturday night throughout the school year. The Saturday night events may range from something as simple as an outdoor movie to something much larger, such as dodge ball. Two major events expected for fall quarter are the Get Acquainted Party and the Fall Banquet. Winter and spring quarters should also have a banquet, so the SVP should plan accordingly with the FVP and divide the budget adequately to accommodate the expenses for these events. The Social Vice President plays an integral role in SA because he/she must aim to plan events that cater to a very diverse crowd. This position is challenging, but with a good social committee and sponsors to help it can be quite rewarding.

Religious Vice-President

Office Description: The Religious Vice President is the overseer of religious activities on campus. He/she provides support for ministries on campus. He/she is in charge of putting vespers programs together, including finding speakers. The RVP is in place to help provide an environment where the students of PUC can grow spiritually. He/she, along with the Campus Chaplain and Assistant Chaplains, provides the student body with approachable spiritual leaders to come and talk to about suggestions and any other spiritual aspects.

Financial Vice-President

Bio:
Office Description: The office of FVP is made up of many different aspects. You have to be able to make journal entries (allocating money from the school), make budgets for each office, keep tabs on officers to make sure their spending is not over their budget, do monthly bank reconciliations, do bank runs to deposit funds, be able to work with others (since you are the "controller" of the money), and judge if reimbursements are necessary or not. A lot of these things can be done in the program Quickbooks and it's important to know how this program works. Of course there are little things that come up and you have to be able to deal with them as they come.

Campus Chronicle Editor
Contact: 6747
Bio:
Office Description: The primary function of this position is putting out thirteen issues of the Campus Chronicle throughout the year. This periodical is usually twenty pages long and deals with campus news, sports, spirituality, opinions and student profiles. By interacting with students and faculty, the Campus Chronicle covers a variety of topics– relevant to our school– in a fair and balanced journalistic fashion.

Diogenes Lantern Editor
Contact: 6749
Bio:
Office Description: The Diogenes Lantern is the annual yearbook that comes out at the end of Spring Quarter. It is the DL Editor's job to make sure that this happens in the most swift, efficient, and economical way. The yearbook typically covers events from the beginning of Fall Quarter until the end of Winter Quarter. Spring Quarter is when the book is sent out, and hopefully is received before the 2nd to last week of Spring Quarter. The DL Editor is responsible for the design and concept of the entire yearbook, hiring photographers for underclassmen and senior portraits, negotiating a contract with either the incumbent printing company or with a new printing company, and covering the majority of the major events that happen throughout Fall and Winter Quarter. Also, it is the Editor's right/responsibility to put together a staff that will work with him or her to create the DL Yearbook if he/she sees fit to do so.

Funnybook Editor
Contact: 6748
Bio:
Office Description: Obviously, the FB editor is in charge of organizing the Funnybook. FB editor typically has been a design major, but it is not required. In reality, the editor is just in charge of getting the right people to do the right jobs. Additional jobs for FB editor involve random S.A. design work, such as the SA t-shirts, and being a stand-by officer that will be able to help the other officers in their times of need.

Video Yearbook Editor
Contact: 6795
Bio:
Office Description: The Video Yearbook is a half-hour documentary that chronicles our year here at PUC with footage from events and student life as well as interviews from our teachers and our friends. The DVD that you'll receive at the end of the year will not only contain the film, but bonus material such as SA videos, AIA and Student Missionary stories and pictures, and PDF copies of each issue of the Campus Chronicle. That's only scratching the surface! It's my job to head up the filming of all the DVD content, as well as creation, authoring and design.
