George Barcenas - Head Coach

George Barcenas has returned to PUC as the Head Coach for the Women’s Program. He came to us from Maria Carrillo, a Division II High School, where he built a program from the ground up. Going into his fourth season at Maria Carrillo he led the Women’s Varsity Program to the schools first undefeated season and two games away from going to State. That same year, George was honored with Coach of the Year, as voted by the other coaches in the league. That same work ethic and winning attitude is what he brings to this program.

Coach Barcenas is a graduate of PUC, so he is familiar with the high expectations of this program. He has been coaching basketball for over 12 years, including the middle school, high school, collegiate levels and countless basketball camps. Coach Barcenas has a passion for teaching and developing each student-athlete into the best basketball player and person they can become.

Currently Coach Barcenas is the Athletic Director for Roseland Middle School. He brings with him his wife Laura Barcenas (also a PUC alum) and their two year old boy, Jhordanny.

Doug Wilson - Assistant Coach

Doug Wilson is also a PUC Alum and has been coaching basketball for over 10 years, including elementary, high school, college and several basketball camps. Coach Wilson has worked closely with Coach Barcenas together for over 8 years. His work ethic and attention to details help bring an added level of confidence and success to the program.

Currently Doug is the Director of Student Activities at PUC and spends his spare time helping with the program.

Jordan Kergan - Assistant Coach

Jordan Kergan has been coaching varsity athletics for over 8 years, including basketball and baseball. He is a graduate of Simpson University in Redding, CA, and brings a much needed energy and enthusiasm to the program. Jordan has also worked with young people in a variety of ways, including youth homes. His ability to relate and work with our players is a valuable asset to our program.

Coach Kergan brings with him his wife Natalie and their 2 year old baby, Mazie.

Gabriel Madrid - Talent Scout/Recruiter

Gabriel Madrid has been coaching basketball for over 9 years. A former stand-out basketball player in high school and college, Coach Madrid brings a Texas-stlye of coaching and flavor to the program. He is a very focused and intense coach that demands a high level of productivity from the players. Currently he is the Athletic Director and Head Coach for the Men’s Varsity program at Rio Lindo Adventist Academy, and assists with our program when he is able.

Coach Madrid brings with him his wife Kay, daughter Arielle (age 7), son Gabriel (age 4) and their newest addition Adoniel.

Casey Bartlett - Team Manager

Casey Bartlett comes to us from Mesa Grande Academy where he was an outstanding basketball player. His energy, enthusiasm and passion for the game make him an invaluable asset to our program.

Casey is a Sophomore and double-majors in both Theology and Physical Education. He is currently single.
