Men's Soccer Season Preview 2008

Posted: Sep 17, 2008

In his basic preparations for the 2008 men's soccer season, Coach Jesus Medina predicted the year to be challenging for the Pioneers as they continue to build themselves into a competitive team. At this point in time, it was difficult for Medina to accurately access what type of a team he will have this season as the full roster will not be on campus until the first week of school.

However, Medina did comment on his goals for his Pioneers this season. "I want to continue building and promoting the program," he said. "We want to move to the next competitive level, and that means scoring more goals, receiving less goals, and winning more games."

The Pioneers came out of eight games last season with three victories, beating California State University Maritime twice, in addition to a win against William Jessup University.

The 2008 men's soccer team begins their season on Thursday, September 18 with a non-conference match with CSU Maritime followed by their conference opener Wednesday, September 24th when they travel to Menlo College in Atherton. Their first home game will follow on Friday, the 26th at 4:00 p.m. against Simpson University.
