Compared to every quarter that I’ve attended PUC, this one has been bittersweet. Even though I am a junior, this is my last year attending PUC. I am a pre-physical therapy student and have been through the process of applying for PT school this past summer. I have applied to Andrews University and I am still in the process of applying to Loma Linda University. Just last week I received my acceptance letter from Andrews University. I was so excited that I had to tell everyone I knew.
Then this past weekend my friends and I drove to San Francisco. We went to a new restaurant, had an adventure in the park, and stopped for some hot chocolate in Ghirardelli Square. At the restaurant my friends surprised me; they told the restaurant it was my birthday and I was given free vanilla gelato. I’ve never tried vanilla gelato before, but it tasted better than vanilla ice cream! Another amazing item I tried was the pumpkin spice hot chocolate I bought at the Ghirardelli shop. My taste buds must have been off that day because I couldn’t taste the pumpkin flavor while my friend said she could; either way it was still warm and delicious.
Just yesterday I celebrated my 20th birthday. It was one of the best birthdays I have ever had away from home. The night before my birthday, three of my closest friends gave me a present. When I opened the gift I was completely taken by surprise: it was a bottle of perfume, specifically Lovestruck by Vera Wang. I absolutely loved it! It was the best gift they could have given me. Then the night of my birthday we went out to dinner at a restaurant called Thai House. The food was amazing; I loved the green curry I ordered. When we arrived back to school I was surprised by a bunch of other friends with a cake. I felt so much love from all of my friends that day and I couldn’t have asked for more from them. I am truly blessed.
Even though it seems like I’ve just been having fun this quarter, I promise you that I have been studying and working hard too. I am taking only three classes this quarter: systems physiology, exercise physiology, and statistics. My hardest class is systems physiology. We don’t have any homework assignments in that class but it requires a lot of intense studying and dedication. On top of that I work on campus 14 hours a week as a desk receptionist at Winning Hall and I am an anatomy lab TA.
This is my last year at PUC and I will enjoy it to the fullest. I thank the Lord for all the blessings he has given me these past few years. I will miss all of the amazing friends I have made here and will be sure to come back and visit. I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving.
