This page and the accompanying documents were prepared specifically to aid Pacific Union College students who are interested in a career in dentistry. These documents are divided up into three categories plus a section of frequently asked questions as outlined below.
Since most Pre-Dental students at PUC will attend dental school at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, the first category is information which comes directly from Loma Linda University and is specific to Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. To see the full list of items available for Loma Linda click on the Loma Linda entry in the menu to the left.
The next category of documents are documents that I have put together using information from a variety of sources. These documents give information that a student is likely to find useful including some demographical information about how PUC students do compared to other students. To view these files click on Info and Advice to the left.
The FAQ is the list of frequently asked questions. Some questions are asked so often that it is most efficient to place the common questions in a single location so students can peruse the questions and read the answers. Some questions students may not have realized need to be asked so all pre-dental students are encouraged to read the FAQ.
The Important Sites link is a list of links to other sites which may hold interest for predental students. Some are specifically Pre-Dental sites while others deal with dentistry in general. Included here are addresses for DAT application and preparation and application to dental school.
The final link in the menu to the left takes you to a page that should be of great value to folks filling out their AADSAS form. The page has a download link for an Excel spreadsheet along with instructions on how to use it. The spreadsheet allows you to paste your Lantern transcript into the spreadsheet and then it will format the information with correct AADSAS codes for easy entry into the AADSAS coursework section.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact one of the predental advisors: Dr. Bill Hemmerlin, Prof. Aimee Wyrick, or Dr. Ray Rajagukguk
