Elissa Kido, Ph.D., project director of CognitiveGensis and director for the Center for Research on Adventist Education K-12, has taught students in the areas of language arts, English, and English education for the past 40 years. Kido’s academic career includes degrees in English and biology from PUC and a doctorate from Boston University. Kido is currently a professor of education at La Sierra University, where she started the CognitiveGenesis research while dean of the School of Education. Her groundbreaking research has not only made Adventist education more vibrant for students and teachers, but has also created new respect for Adventist education and its mission throughout the world. Kido is featured in Martin Doblmeier’s documentary on Adventist education, The Blueprint, which will be screened on Wednesday evening.
The Colloquy Speaker Series is designed to be a time when the entire campus community comes together to explore new horizons in art, music, intellect, religion, spirituality, service opportunities, cultures, and even our own community here at PUC from a Christian perspective. We hope to learn, to celebrate, to exchange new ideas, and to worship together.
