$13.55 - $16.67 (plus denominational benefits depending upon qualifications and experience)

Reporting to the Director of Public Safety, duties include: night shift campus and outlying College property patrol; respond to and investigate campus incidents; prepare written reports; maintain campus security after evening lockup; detect and report fire, safety, and maintenance problems/hazards; assist local, state and federal law enforcement; enforce campus parking regulations; investigate and document campus accidents; assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors as needed; participate in criminal court or campus judicial proceedings; respond to common inquiries or complaints from campus, regulatory agencies, or community; present appropriate/correct information to Public Safety management, College administration, faculty, staff and students; responsible in cooperation with director and assistant director for the supervision of student patrol officers, and address complaints and resolve problems as necessary. 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Available on-call, weekend, alternate shifts and holidays as necessary in coordination with other staff employees

  • Ability to work independently

  • Able to supervise student patrol officers as watch commander

  • Have high school diploma or general education degree

  • One or more years related experience and/or training preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills to include ability to read, analyze, and interpret California Vehicle and Penal Codes as well as relevant legal documents

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Valid California driver's license with clean record

  • California Security Card Registration and PC832 training preferred

  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
