$13.55 - $16.67 (plus denominational benefits depending upon qualifications and experience)
Reporting to the Director of Public Safety, duties include: night shift campus and outlying College property patrol; respond to and investigate campus incidents; prepare written reports; maintain campus security after evening lockup; detect and report fire, safety, and maintenance problems/hazards; assist local, state and federal law enforcement; enforce campus parking regulations; investigate and document campus accidents; assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors as needed; participate in criminal court or campus judicial proceedings; respond to common inquiries or complaints from campus, regulatory agencies, or community; present appropriate/correct information to Public Safety management, College administration, faculty, staff and students; responsible in cooperation with director and assistant director for the supervision of student patrol officers, and address complaints and resolve problems as necessary.
Available on-call, weekend, alternate shifts and holidays as necessary in coordination with other staff employees
Ability to work independently
Able to supervise student patrol officers as watch commander
Have high school diploma or general education degree
One or more years related experience and/or training preferred
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills to include ability to read, analyze, and interpret California Vehicle and Penal Codes as well as relevant legal documents
Valid California driver's license with clean record
California Security Card Registration and PC832 training preferred
Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
