Assistant Registrar

Position Type:
Part Time (20 hours per week)

Hiring Date:

Wage Rate:
Hourly; (plus denominational benefits, depending upon qualifications and experience)

Reporting to the Academic Dean and the Registrar, essential duties include: analyzing transcripts from other institutions in accordance with institutional policies; entering transfer credit into the database; collaborating with Enrollment Services and academic advisors to advise and register incoming transfer students; advising current and potential students regarding appropriate course selection at other institutions for transfer to PUC; assisting with customer service at the Records Office front counter as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Customer service orientation with a friendly, positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills in the areas of writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong computer aptitude, including skills in database applications (Colleague experience preferred) and Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to provide high-quality academic advising to college students (prior experience preferred).
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty and other staff in the interpretation and enforcement of complex academic policies (prior experience preferred).
  • Ability to perform basic GPA computations.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under stress.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to be self-directed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse others.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience.
