Student Life Agreement
Pacific Union College is a Christian liberal arts college sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Students seeking an education in Pacific Union College's environment have a responsibility to help preserve the essential qualities which make the college distinctive.
The college desires for its students to become experienced at making personal decisions based on Seventh-day Adventist principles of Christian living. By choosing to enroll at PUC, you are expressing a willingness to make decisions which are guided by the following principles:
- To seek truth and to consider the Bible as life's ultimate guidebook.
- To participate actively in a lifestyle which includes personal devotions, group worship, and service to others.
- To deal honestly in all aspects of life.
- To maintain high standards of taste and decency in conduct, expression, and citizenship.
- To respect the property, personal dignity, time, and right to privacy of others.
- To treat others with graciousness, demonstrating tolerance for diversity.
- To maintain a lifestyle of moral purity.
- To value and pursue a healthful lifestyle, including good nutrition, regular exercise, and adequate rest. (The use of alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs or the misuse of prescription drugs is not acceptable.)
- To dress modestly, appropriately, and in good taste.
- To develop an appreciation for great art, music, and literature.
- To help others fulfill their student life agreement.
- To faithfully abide by PUC's policies, understanding that failure to do so may result in withdrawal from PUC.
As a student, you understand that Pacific Union College is a unique, Christian institution. You wish to attend PUC of your own free will, and you choose to live by its principles both on and off campus.
Our faculty, staff, and students form a supportive group interested in your spiritual growth, academic success, and overall well-being. Many avenues exist at PUC to maintain a healthy and well-balanced life along with opportunities to cultivate good social and personal relationships. Our Strategic Plan
GOAL 1: A Christ-centered Campus
A loving relationship with Jesus Christ will be integral to the academic and community life of our college.
GOAL 2: A Vibrant Adventist Learning Community
We will foster an environment in which all members of our college family nurture a vibrant, wholistic approach to learning.
GOAL 3: Student Access and Persistence (Retention)
We will improve student access and methods of helping students persist at PUC by strengthening financial assistance, student employment opportunities, campus climate, and spirit.
GOAL 4: Strong Faculty and Staff Retention/Recruitment
We will be known for our outstanding faculty and staff who have such high morale and commitment to Christian education and to the college that they will want to remain as employees, thereby making recruitment of new college family members an easier task.
