Maxwell Scholar Program

The Maxwell Scholar Program awards $10,000 each to up to five students. You must be a recipient of the Maxwell, President's or Dean's Scholarship in order to apply. Candidates will be judged on their academic success, leadership, and Christian service.

President's and Dean's Scholarships

The President's and Dean's Scholarships are based on a combination of high GPA and test-scores. The scholarships are renewable each year. To renew, students must maintain the minimal GPA required for either category. Students eligible for a President's or Dean's scholarship are qualified to apply for the Maxwell Scholar Program.

President's Scholarship
3.75-4.0 GPA / 29+ ACT or 1900+ SAT

Dean's Scholarship
3.5-4.0 GPA / 26+ ACT or 1700+ SAT

GPA/Test-Score Scholarships

If you are not eligible for the President's or Dean's Scholarship, you may qualify for a GPA or test score scholarship. You may receive either a GPA or test-score scholarship, whichever is higher. This chart is also used to award transfer students based on their college GPA.

*These scholarships are renewable if your minimum PUC GPA (applicable only to grades received on PUC courses) for each level is maintained. See GPA chart above; applicable to both categories.

Mostert Leadership Scholarships

Mostert Leadership Scholarships are based on high-school leadership experiences and are only applicable for your freshman year at PUC. Maximum award in leadership is $3,000.

Christian Service Award $1,200
Students involved in church or community service leadership are eligible to receive $1,200. A reference letter (from pastor or sponsor), describing your participation in community service, is required. This award is still considered a part of the Mostert Leadership Awards.

National Merit Awards

These awards are given to students who achieve high scores on their PSATs. They cannot be used in addition to President's, Dean's, or GPA/Test-Score Scholarships. We will award the higher amount.

National Merit Winner/Finalist 100% Tuition (3 yr. renewable with 3.5 GPA)
National Merit Semifinalist 33.3% Tuition (3 yr. renewable with 3.5 GPA)
National Merit Commended 20% Tuition (3 yr. renewable with 3.5 GPA)

Honors Program Scholarship

The Honors Program at Pacific Union College invites motivated, articulate and intellectually courageous individuals to join our quota of 25 students each fall. The program is rooted in the Great Books tradition and replaces general education for the participants. Integrating core texts with art, music, film and travel (a trip to Italy), the discussion-based program models a holistic approach to learning while enlarging a deep spiritual commitment to God. Students may receive up to $3000 toward tuition expenses.

Program Eligibility:

  • High school core GPA over 3.5
  • High ACT and/or SAT scores
  • Strong writing skills
  • Self-motivation and intellectual curiosity

Proficiency in Performance Awards

Proficiency in Performance awards are given to incoming freshmen for publicly performing with proficiency in art, athletics, drama or music. $1,000 maximum award.

Summer Ministries Leadership Scholarships
Scholarships are available to students who work at a Seventh-day Adventist summer camp, in summer youth ministry, or in literature evangelism during the summer of 2009, and then attend PUC during the 2009-2010 academic year. PUC matches 50 percent of all the earned money that is applied to the student's tuition.

Student Missions/Task Force Scholarships
Student Missions/Task Force Scholarships, based on the amount of time served, are available to qualified students who attend PUC the year following their term of service.

Discounts

The Tuition Guarantee Plan
For students without need-based financial aid, the tuition (excluding room and board) in effect when entering PUC will be frozen until the student graduates, provided full-time continuous registration is maintained and total estimated costs (including room and board) for the year are pre-paid by September 15.

Cash Tuition Discount
If total estimated costs (tuition, room and board) are paid in full by September 15 for Fall Quarter, December 15 for Winter Quarter, and March 15 for Spring Quarter, a cash discount of two percent will be applied.

Family Discount
An immediate family with two dependent students attending PUC at the same time will receive a tuition-only discount of $200 per student, per quarter; with three or more students, the discount is $250 per student, per quarter.
