Through its scholarship program, PUC recognizes its students for achievement and leadership:

A. Student Life Leadership Awards


Based on high school leadership experience. Maximum award of $2,100.

Thomas J. Mostert, Jr., Leadership Award

  1. SA President junior or senior year - $1,200
  2. Class President junior or senior year - $1,200

Student Association Leadership Awards

  1. SA Vice President junior or senior year - $1,200
  2. SA Other Officer junior or senior year - $825

Class Leadership Awards

  1. Class Vice President junior or senior year - $1,200
  2. Class Other Officer junior or senior year - $825

Publications Leadership Awards

  1. Yearbook Editor junior or senior year - $1,200
  2. Newspaper Editor junior or senior year - $1,200

Music Leadership Awards

  1. John Philip Souza band award - $1,050
  2. Robert Shaw choral award - $1,050

Other Leadership Awards

  1. Discretionary church, school or community service up to $1,050

B. Academic Scholarships


Student's highest test-based scholarship may be combined with GPA Scholarship.

1.SCHOLARSHIPS BASED ON TEST RESULTS

American College Test (ACT)

  1. ACT score of 30 or above - $2,100 (Renewable 2nd year for $1,800 with 3.5 cumulative GPA; 3rd and 4th years renewable as GPA Scholarship)
  2. ACT score of 28–29 $1,050 (Freshman year; renewable as GPA Scholarship)

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

  1. National Merit Winner/Finalist 100% Tuition (3 yr. renewable; cumulative GPA 3.5)
  2. National Merit Semifinalist 33.3% Tuition (3 yr. renewable; cumulative GPA 3.5)
  3. National Merit Commended 20% Tuition (3 yr. renewable; cumulative GPA 3.25)
  4. SAT score of 1,950 or above $2,100 (Renewable 2nd year for $1,800 with 3.5 cumulative GPA; 3rd and 4th years renewable as GPA Scholarship)
  5. SAT score of 1,800–1,949 $1,050 (Freshman year; renewable as GPA Scholarship)

2. RENEWABLE GPA SCHOLARSHIPS

Based on high school GPA and renewable up to three years, if student maintains minimum cumulative GPA.

Grade Point Average Total First Year 3 Years Renewable

  1. GPA between 3.75 and 4.00 $5,100* $1,500 $1,200
  2. GPA between 3.50 and 3.74 $3,700* $1,000 $ 900
  3. GPA between 3.25 and 3.49 $2,800* $ 700 $ 700
  4. GPA between 3.00 and 3.24 $ 600**

C. Proficiency in Performance Awards


Proficiency in Performance (PIP) award are available in Athletics, Art, Drama, and Music. You can download and print forms for each of these areas.

  • Proficiency in Performance Awards are given to incoming freshmen for publicly performing with proficiency in art, athletics, drama or music.
  • Applications must be postmarked on or before April 15, 2008, to be considered.

D. Other Available Scholarships


Minority Leadership Scholarship up to $1,050

Minority Leadership Scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated leadership have a history of serving their community and a commitment to future leadership and service. You can download, print, and fill out the application form for this scholarship.

  • Please call, write or e-mail Enrollment Services to request an application. Applications must be postmarked by April 15, 2008.
  • Renewable upon re-application each year.

Pacific Union Conference Education Endowment Scholarships

  • Contact your pastor or local conference Office of Education for applications.

Summer Ministries Leadership Scholarships

  • These scholarships are available to students who work at an Adventist summer camp, in summer youth ministry, or in literature evangelism during the summer of 2008, and then attend PUC during the 2008-2009 academic year.
  • The college will match 50 percent of all the earned money that is applied to the student's tuition.

Student Missions/Task Force Scholarships

  • Student Missions/Task Force Scholarships, based on the amount of time served, are available to qualified students who attend PUC the year following their term of service.
