Prepare for Screening
Please follow the steps below in order to prepare for your screening appointment and gain a greater understanding of what will be involved during your appointment. Screenings are held in West Hall Annex, Room 205.
Please Note: The online "Personal Wellness Profile Assessment" can be completed:
- Prior to your appt. (no more than 2 days prior)
- During your appt. (see Employee Health & Wellness home page for registration instructions).
Step 1
Please fast for 12 hours prior to your appointment (drinking water as usual). During your screening appointment, we will be checking the clinical values listed below. If you choose to obtain or retrieve these values from your primary care physician, please make sure they are within 6 months of your wellness appointment. Please bring a copy of the results with you to your screening appointment or have them faxed to 965-6240.
- Height
- Weight
- % Body Fat (please do not eat or exercise 12 hours prior to test)
- Resting Blood Pressure (Sitting)
- Resting Pulse
- Waist Girth (around belly button)
- Fasting (12 hours) Lab Work:
- Triglycerides
- Total Cholesterol
- HDL
- TC/HDL Ratio
- LDL
- Glucose (A1C if warranted)
- Non Fasting Lab Work:
PSA testing and hs-CRP need to be completed through your primary care physician. Please ask me about the protocol and reimbursement process for these blood tests.
Step 2
Wear loose fitting clothing and exercise shoes. Unless exempt, there will be a step test, grip strength, curl ups, push ups and flexibility tests.
