Duties:
Reporting to the President, duties include: create and monitor a strategic operational plan; take a leadership role in capital campaign development and priorities; develop, acquire approval and manage budget needs; oversee major gift cultivation and solicitation; manage department personnel; liaison as directed by Administrative Council and Board to establish, implement and monitor Advancement policies, systems and programs;  coordinate and monitor gift clubs such as President’s Circle, and others; serve as a member of the Administrative Council in planning, policy making, and executive leadership of the College; identify contributors; plan and coordinate cultivation and solicitation; supervise and coordinate staff maintenance of donor records, grants, and letters of appreciation to contributors; negotiate agreements with representatives of organizations for information and cooperative programs; submit information to recognized Advancement organizations on a timely basis for collection of national data; cooperate with Philanthropic Services for Institutions (PSI) in the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s program of philanthropy; manage enlistment, organization, and education of volunteers; ensure recognition of donors and volunteers; cultivate and solicit contributions from the Board of Trustees; carry out responsibilities as assigned by the President.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in related field or four to ten years of  experience or combination of experience and education
  • Commitment to Seventh-day Adventist higher education and mission
  • Effective and persuasive speaker, presenter, analyzer, and manager
  • Experience in capital campaigns and planned giving
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • CFRE preferred
  • Able to travel up to 60% of the time
