Duties:

Pacific Union College Business Administration and Economics Department is IACBE accredited, with a strong emphasis on teaching.

Teach courses such as Management, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources Management, Labor Law and Legislation, and Strategic Management; additional courses may include Finance, Investments, Supply Chain Management, Financial Planning and Forecasting, Personal Financial Planning, and Real Estate. The specific course load will depend on the qualifications and interests of the newly hired faculty and the current needs and interests of the Department faculty.

Faculty must be willing to assist the Department in providing courses to off-campus evening non-traditional college programs. In addition to an emphasis on teaching, Pacific Union College also places strong emphasis on student interaction and community involvement. Faculty are expected to participate in advising department majors, attend department functions, and contribute to the College governance system, and are expected to become positively involved in the College and local communities.

Faculty members are accountable to the Academic Dean; the Department Chair is responsible for academic, financial and administrative oversight of the Department and Department Faculty. 

Desirable Qualifications:

Ph.D., D.B.A. in Management (ABD considered; preferred completion by June 2009); expertise in Finance is also desired.

In addition to the stated educational requirements, the Department seeks faculty with a demonstrated ability to interact positively with students and colleagues in furtherance of the College’s mission.
