PUC hosts the second annual Piano Fantasia concert October 11 at the college’s Paulin Hall. The event brings together world-class performers for an evening of music in support of Pianos for Paulin, an effort to upgrade the center’s equipment and facilities.
In honor of PUC’s 100th year in Angwin, PUC and the PUC Church are partnering in 40 Days of Prayer for PUC. The event, currently in progress, aims to focus the college’s constituents on thanksgiving and petition to God on behalf of the school, its students, its administration, and its faculty.
Life has been busy up on the mountain these last few months. On April 17-19, alumni from across the country returned to PUC for Homecoming, the annual celebration of the college, of education, and of students. The weekend was packed with friends, laughter, food and memories. Each year at Homecoming I'm amazed at the stories I hear and renewed with the energy and love that comes back to campus.
On March 7, Barry Black stood before a full audience of students, staff, community members, and parents. Black came to Pacific Union College to speak for the biennial Heubach Lecture, provided by the Paul C. Heubach endowment. Black left an impression on PUC with his passion and message.
Homecoming 2009 is coming up, and we are very excited to have you back on campus. There are plans for events, such as vespers, with some of our traditions - the lighting of the missionary map, a focus on service, and the ringing of the Healdsburg bell.
On Thursday, November 6, Pacific Union College held its 28th annual Career Day in the Dining Commons on campus. Over 70 professionals participated, providing career options and information for PUC students.
The class of 2009 recently elected their class officers and after reading through the list I decided to go back and look at the class officers from this year's honor years. Maybe these names will jog some memories for you.
I just spent some time looking through old issues of the Campus Chronicle that were donated to the PUC history museum by Milon Norling Crickmer,'53, via Barbara Youngblood,'47, professor emerita. Most of them were from the 1952 school year.
