Free Writing Lab

Our Writing Lab operates nightly, Sunday through Thursday, to assist students with any college writing assignment. While not a proof-reading service, writing tutors work individually with students to critique their own work, becoming more confident and skilled in the process. Call the TLC at ext. 7688 to set up an appointment any time between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Individual Tutoring (Free to qualified students)

PUC students may qualify for individual tutoring. A student is qualified by one of the following criteria to receive free individual tutoring services:

  1. Documentation for disabilities services (contact Nancy Jacobo or call (707) 965-7685 to begin the process).
  2. A professor's recommendation for a student to receive individual tutoring in his or her course.
  3. As a part of the academic mentoring program. A student will typically be regularly attending sessions scheduled with TLC staff members prior to receiving recommendations for individual services.

Individual tutoring may be available in any subject provided a qualified peer tutor is available for that subject area. Individual tutors typically work with their student partners one to two times per week in one-hour study sessions. A student may see any one of the TLC staff members for an individual tutoring application.

Note: Tutoring forms can be found on the TLC forms & downloads page.
