Film and television majors are required to complete an internship between their junior and senior years. While an internship is not required for the other degrees, it is recommended, and many students have served as interns for a wide range of organizations.
The Visual Arts department frequently coordinates major field trips for students. Past trips include the Sundance Film Festival, photography excursions to Mexico, and the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. The department also hosts numerous dinners and gatherings at faculty homes throughout the year.
There are five renewable $3,000 scholarships available to incoming visual arts majors, who are new to PUC.

Students in the department are hired for positions as lab instructors in the areas of graphic design, film and television, photography, and fine art; gallery guards; and department of visual arts office workers.
Peter V. and Eleanor E. Wall Family Scholarship provides tuition assistance on a rotational basis to students in the departments of art, music, and communication with financial need and academic achievement.
