The Pre-Nursing major focuses on the prerequisite and cognate classes required for admission to the AS Nursing Program at PUC. Pre-Nursing offers students the opportunity to build a strong foundation of knowledge in human biology, social sciences and other essential areas that will enable them to succeed in the AS Nursing Program.

The AS Degree in Nursing is the first step in a two-step path to completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN), and is the portion of the PUC Nursing program that prepares graduates to take the registered nurse licensing exam (NCLEX). Following completion of the AS Degree in Nursing, graduates may then continue directly on to the BSN.

On the Angwin Campus, the AS Degree program takes place over six quarters (two years).

Health Clearance Requirements for all Nursing Students.

Students who are already LVNs or Med Techs may wish to pursue their AS Degree in Nursing through the LVN to RN program offered at the Napa campus. The LVN to RN AS Degree program is offered in a non-traditional core week format, designed for working healthcare professionals.
