Dr. Shanthi Ellen Solomon graduated from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India in 1991 with a B.Sc in Nursing. Subsequently she completed a Master’s degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in 2006 followed up with a doctorate in nursing from Loma Linda University, California in 2015. Shanthi has over 20 years of experience in various areas of clinical nursing as well as in academia in different countries. She has served as a nurse, a nursing tutor, community health educator, nurse educator and a nurse administrator. Shanthi believes that because one cannot be a nurse without a patient, it is imperative that a nurse understands all aspects of patient care, thereby making a nurse a lifelong learner. She is passionate about helping nurses understand that nursing is not just about the functions one performs with the hands, it is about what a nurse puts into being a nurse. Shanthi enjoys reading, classical music and visiting new places with her husband of 22 years.
