One year of study abroad required for most French and Spanish majors. Visit the Adventist Colleges Abroad website for more information.
The department has a French Club, and also hosts quarterly pre-vespers programs for majors, as well as events for returning ACA students, and graduating seniors.
The department hires one to two student readers for French each year, one for German, one for Italian, and two to three for Spanish. Tutors for each language are recommended to the Teaching and Learning Center. The department looks for student employees who are highly proficient in the respective language, responsible, and competent. They are responsible for correcting and recording student work as well as other miscellaneous tasks as specified by their supervisor.
