Student Opportunities

Student Employment

Computer science majors work in the department as readers and lab assistants. In addition, the Teaching and Learning Center hires students as tutors.

Clubs, Honor Societies, and Activities

There is an informal club for computer science, mathematics and physics students. The department gathers several times a year at the home of a professor for socialization and food.

While internships are not a formal part of the requirements, they are strongly encouraged. In addition to on-the-job experience, internships provide valuable contacts with those in the industry and can open doors to future employment. Internships by our students have included the White House, Cisco, Microsoft, R2 Technology, and In-Q-Tel.

Bruce Ivey and Robert Ordonez advise students regarding obtaining internships.
