Wayne Buckhanan, Ph.D., assistant professor of computer science, specializes in cross-disciplinary modeling and simulation. In addition to ongoing collaboration with researchers at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Buckhanan's wide ranging interests have led him through graduate studies in computer science, mathematics, physics, and electrical engineering as well as continued study of models of human communication, teaching & learning, and adult development. His teaching, tutoring, and training has spanned a wide range of ages and disciplines with his life's work centering on enthusiastic adult and young-adult learners. His recent experience starting a high school from scratch, while humbling, built upon years of teaching at the college level and training entrepreneurs & professionals.

Outside of his teaching and training roles, Dr. Buckhanan has been involved in church planting as a holistic small group leader, video production for television and online, strength training & nutrition, web development for small businesses, and international youth development projects. He is a voracious reader, an avid "maker" & author, and a life-long learner.

As his time (and attention) permits, he continues learning more about topics such as composing & playing music, blacksmithing, New Testament Greek, and human neurology & physiology.
