The curriculum in the computer science department is modeled on the guidelines of the Association for Computing Machinery. In addition to the majors, the department offers a minor in computer science.
Major in Computer Science—B.A.
The B.A. in computer science prepares students for careers applying computers to fields other than computer science and more geared for students not planning on doing graduate study or careers in systems or application programming.
Major in Computer Science—B.S.
Students whose main interest is the discipline of computer science, perhaps leading to graduate study, choose the B.S. in computer science. This degree is also appropriate for those wanting careers in systems or application programming.
