Computer science continues to be a growing field with great potential for lucrative pay. In a CNN and CareerBuilder.com article, published in 2006, five computer science-related careers made the US Bureau of Labor Statistics' list of top 30 fastest growing jobs through 2014.

Graduates with a degree in computer science may pursue a career in a number of related fields, including computer programming, telecommunications specialists, database administration, and education.

Depending on the specific area of work and the level of degree earned (more complex jobs require a graduate degree), graduates can earn anywhere from $50,000 to $80,000.
