Business is a major that prepares the student for a wide variety of careers. Graduates can be employed in a number of fields, all of which have a need for people trained in management, finance, tax preparation, marketing and many other business-related areas. Almost all types of organizations need business-trained personnel. Our recent graduates have gone to work for regional, local, and national accounting firms, investment firms like Merrill Lynch, Insurance companies, Adventist Health organizations, schools, and for family businesses.
The Business Department is one of the largest departments at PUC in terms of majors and numbers of teachers. Students have been fortunate in finding jobs after college, many with very good organizations. The department has attracted good students and many organizations wants to employee those who were good students. Typically 5-10% of the graduating seniors go on to medical school, another 5-10% go on to dental school, another 5-10% go to law school, and an additional 5-10% go on to graduate business school.
Beginning salaries generally range between $35,000 and $55,000, with a high level for potential earnings to be far greater, depending on the field chosen and individual advancement.
Our graduates have gone to many major universities in the USA as well as some overseas. A partial list of graduate schools attended by PUC students follows. Some of these schools are for business and law while others have been primarily for law.
