Institutional Proposal

Pacific Union College's WASC Proposal was submitted May 15, 2007 and was accepted by WASC without the need for revision or resubmission

The proposal is a fifteen page document that:

  • Defines specific goals and outcomes for review
  • Develops strategies for assessing and improving learning
  • Conducts a preliminary self-evaluation
  • Assesses the effectiveness of the data-gathering and analysis systems

The Proposal was prepared by the WASC-PC in close consultation with the college community. The document was reviewed by the faculty, staff, and student representatives, and it was approved by the Board of Trustees on February 21, 2007, subject to minor substantive and organizational changes.

One of the important decisions to emerge out of the proposal process, was the agreement on the four themes that would guide our reaffirmation work. These four themes are:

  • A Learning Community
  • Stewardship
  • A Culture of Service
  • Conversations on Faith, Learning and Adventist Identity
