WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)

The WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) is the regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education for the states of California and Hawaii and a number of Pacific territories. Pacific Union College has maintained accreditation from the WSCUC since 1951.

Pacific Union College is accredited by the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges, and Universities (AAA). AAA is the denominational accrediting authority for educational institutions affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Programmatic Accreditation

  • Both the AS and BSN degree nursing programs at PUC are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, Georgia 30326, (404) 975-5000) and the AS degree program is approved by the California State Board of Registered Nursing.
  • The music department is a fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music
  • The social work program at PUC is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Credential programs in the education department are fully accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing giving assurance of a quality learning experiences in desired credentials.
  • The International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education has accredited programs offered by the business department.
  • The aviation program operates a pilot school approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
