Accreditation

Pacific Union College is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition to the school-wide academic accreditation from the WASC, PUC has also received specialized accreditation from various organizations.

Western Association of Schools and Colleges

The Western Association of Colleges and Schools (WASC) is the regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education for the states of California and Hawaii and a number of Pacific territories. Pacific Union College has maintained uninterrupted accreditation from the WASC since 1951. In summer 2011, WASC renewed Pacific Union College's full reaccreditation through spring 2018 following a rigorous review process.

Adventist Accrediting Association

Pacific Union College is accredited by the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges, and Universities (AAA). AAA is the denominational accrediting authority for educational institutions affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Programmatic Accreditation

  • The nursing programs at PUC are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission and approved by the California State Board of Registered Nursing.
  • The music department is a fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music
  • The social work program at PUC is accredited by the Counsel on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Credential programs in the education department are fully accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing giving assurance of a quality learning experiences in desired credentials.
  • The International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education has accredited programs offered by the business department.
