PIONEERS OPENING MATCH PREVIEW

The Pioneers men’s soccer team kicks off its season Tuesday, September 18, at CSU Maritime. It’s their first of nine matches this season. The match-up features two teams who split the season series in 2006. A year ago PUC beat Maritime 2-1 in an exhibition game at home and lost 1-0 in the conference game at Maritime.
This is the first of two exhibition matches for the Pioneers, who begin their regular season Friday, October 5, at Simpson University. PUC also travels to William Jessup University on Friday, September 21, for their second exhibition match.
After practicing the past several weeks to prepare for the season, the Pioneers will see what they can do in a live game scenario. Based on last year’s two nail biters with Maritime, this looks to be an exciting game.
