Hmwk: Find words to another Civil War song online and print them out. Be prepared to share and discuss the song. Is its purpose to stir the listeners to battle? Is it celebrating the common soldier? What emotions is the songwriter hoping to engender? Notice the poetic features of the verse: rhyme, rhythm, figurative language, etc.

Wed Due: Printout of another Civil War song. Share and discuss songs. Finish reading and discussing Civil War songs from yesterday. No hmwk.

Each illustration must have a caption. Captions must contain a description and/or name of illustration and the artist's name--if appropriate. Sources go at end of each chapter in MLA format. Arrange sources in order they appear in chapter. Use superscript numbers in captions to reference sources.
