The Religion Department has three distinct programs of study:

• Major in Religion--B.A.: This major is designed for those students who want a broad background in religion but who are planning careers in medicine, dentistry, law, or a variety of other professions. [Curriculum Guidesheet]
  
  
• Major in Theology--B.A.: This major is designed for the student who is preparing for Christian ministry in one of its various forms, including pastoral ministry, youth ministry, chaplaincy, and the teaching of religion. The major is particularly suitable for the student who plans to seek professional education in a seminary. Students who desire to complete this major must apply to the Department of Religion for admission into the Ministerial Studies Program during the spring quarter of the sophomore year.
