Teaching and Learning Center for Academic Success

Tutoring Coordinator

Wage Rate: (plus denominational benefits, depending upon qualifications and experience)

Duties: Reporting to the Director of the Teaching and Learning Center for Academic Success, duties include as assigned: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student tutors recommended by academic department chairs and course instructors; coordinate with faculty on desired tutoring approach for their courses; hold bi-quarterly student tutor training sessions and schedule group or individual tutoring sessions in the TLC or other facilities as needed; maintain Writing Lab appointments and lab. instructors approved by the English department; keep current tutoring schedule updated and posted in campus locations and PUC website: keep daily attendance of tutors through direct observance of tutoring sessions held at the TLC and in other campus locations; keep current records of student numbers who use tutorial services; collate records quarterly; report weekly to the director regarding budgeted resources allocated and spent for that period; adjust tutor sessions as needed to comply with targeted attendance numbers and budgeted allocations;; update and maintain knowledge of current hiring practices and wage criteria according to PUC policy and California labor laws.
