STAFF JOB OPENING

Acountanting

Acountant I/II

Wage Rate: $14.25 - $17.22 (plus denominational benefits, depending upon qualifications and experience)

Duties: Reporting to the Controller, duties include but are not limited to: prepare daily cash receipt and cash flow report; daily bank transfer and filing of deposit slips; issue hand checks; enter and pay AP/AR hand checks; enter and file general journal vouchers; enter and file budget journal vouchers; enter recurring journal vouchers monthly; post to the GL; process NSF checks (PUC and HME) and monthly journal vouchers; distribute mail; process monthly interdepartmental charges, print and file reports; process journal voucher monthly for credit card fees; order office supplies; maintain Office Depot site (create order profiles for depts. and check order compliance); pay PUC and HME payroll taxes, sales and use taxes; timekeeper for accounting (approve time and prepare biweekly report); copy bind and distribute monthly preliminary and final financial statements; e-mail notices to department heads; follow-up on outstanding payroll and AP checks for PUC and HME, submitting yearly escheatment reports to the State Controller’s office; monthly bank transfer reconciliations; monthly credit card reconciliations; set up department heads on Lantern for financial statement access; transfer files at year-end to permanent location; help the assistant controller with the yearly equipment inventory process, mailing the reports and following through with removal reports; help the assistant controller prepare the yearly business property statement; prepare correspondence for the controller, process and file; general filing for the department; troubleshoot assigned duties; process monthly Chevron inventory report; process monthly market and hardware inventory report.
