All PUC ID Cards are issued and managed by Student Financial Services. This includes cards issued for Student, Interdepartmental, Faculty, Staff, Commercial and HME Staff. The Dining Commons also has ID cards available for use. These cards are used for Students, Campus Guest, Campmeetings and other customers.

Using ID cards has several benefits:

  • Security: If you lose your ID card you may report your ID card lost and your funds will be protected. For further information regarding this and other lost card issues look below.

  • Speed: Moving through the cafeteria line is much faster than using cash. Cash transactions require the customer and/or the cashier to make change. Checks require time to write and or sign. We do not accept third party checks or credit/debit bank cards. ID cards only require a quick swipe through the reader.

  • Track Charges: Each customer has the ability to see the current balance on their account after each swipe of the card. Please note that all accounts are declining balance. This means that accounts that are open ended start at zero and work their way down. Therefore the balance always shows as negative. A balance of -$100.00 means that you have spent $100.00. Whereas cards that have a limited balance start at the limit and work their way to 0. A balance of $100.00 means you have $100.00 remaining. In addition to seeing your running balance you may request a print out of your account history from the Dining Commons.

  • Student Benefit: Students are not required to pay tax. By obtaining an ID card, a customer that is a student can be verified and therefore issued a card that is tax free.

  • Faculty, Staff, HME Benefit: By using your card you will receive a 5% discount on any purchase you make at the Dining Commons.

Reporting Lost Cards
Cards issued by Student Finance may be reported lost at either the Dining Commons or Student Finance. Cards issued by the Dining Commons can only be reported to the Dining Commons. The number for Student Finance is (707) 965 - 7200. They are generally open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The number for the Dining Commons is (707) 965 - 6618. Office hours are generally from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Outside the office hours you may see a head cashier who has the ability to deactivate cards. However, they do not have the ability to reactivate cards. Your funds will be protected as soon as you speak directly with someone at either office. If you leave a message your funds are unprotected until someone actually picks up your message.

Temporary Cards
Temporary cards are available at the Dining Commons. These cards have a one time use and have a processing fee of $5.00. These cards are available only for the purchase of a meal.

Obtaining A New ID Card
Replacement cards can be obtained only from the office they were issued. ID cards issued through Student Finance will have a fee of $12.00 for replacement. The fee only applies when a brand new plastic ID card is made.

ID Card Ownership
ID cards are the property of Pacific Union College. Cards are to be returned when the user of the ID card leaves the college. Dining Commons ID cards are to be returned to the Dining Commons whenever the user is done with the card. These cards are reused.

The Lost Card Code
Although an ID card may have the same account number, there is a second code, known as the lost card code. This makes each card unique. When a replacement card is made after an ID card has been lost, it will have a new Lost Card Code. For this reason, a lost card that is found can not be used. Only one ID card per ID number can be valid. The only exception to this is for Faculty/Staff ID cards. A spouse can hold a second card that is identical to the primary holder. Because of this, whenever a new card is made for either the primary or the spouse, the second card must be updated or it will show as lost. Cards that show as lost at the register, will be taken and updated. They can be picked up either at Student Finance or the Dining Commons.
