Douglas H. Ammon, M.Ed., M.Div., Ph.D. candidate, Director, Counselor

Douglas Ammon has his B.S. degree in Education and Religion from Walla Walla College - Washington (1970), a Masters in Divinity from Andrews University - Michigan (1973), and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Washington Sate University (1991). He is a Doctorate candidate at Washington State University, finishing a dissertation on Bonding and Attachment Affecting at-Risk Adolescent Young People. Doug served as a pastor, high school teacher and principal. He was the University Chaplain at WSU, and UC Berkeley, and was Director of Minirth Meier New Life Clinic in Spokane, Washington. He is currently director of the Pacific Union College Career and Counseling Center.

Carolyn Trace, M.Ed., Counselor

Carolyn Trace received her R.N. from Durham College in Ontario,
Canada (1972), a B.S. degree in Health Science from Atlantic
Union College - Massachusetts (1981) and her M.Ed. in Counseling
from the College of Idaho (1991). She has extensive training
and experience in many aspects of mental health. Her areas
of expertise include ADHD, Eating Disorders, Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy, Post Traumatic Stress, Depression, Anxiety, and Brain
Based assessments and therapy. Carolyn's passion is working
with students and helping them see their potential and achieve
success in all aspects of life. She is a member of American
Association for Counseling and Development and American Mental
Health Counselors Association. In 1982 Carolyn was awarded
Most Outstanding Leadership Award for ASPA and received an
award from the state of Massachusetts for her outstanding
leadership and contribution to the academic success of college
students at Atlantic Union College. |

Laurie Halversen, MSW, ASW, Counselor

Laurie Halversen received her Bachelors degree in Social Work in 2003 at Walla Walla College. While completing her degree she interned with the College Place School district working in their counseling services and providing individual and group counseling with the 3rd through 8th grades. In 2005 she received her Masters in Social Work. While completing her Master’s program she was employed with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services in their Child Protective Services Unit. She was extensively trained in parent/child interviews, safety assessments, family mediations, and service coordination. In the fall of 2005 she and her family moved to PUC where she has been working in their Career and Counseling Department. She is actively pursing her License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with her supervision provided by Kathleen Herrera. She has a passion for students to see their own potential and succeed not only academically but spiritually and socially as well. |
