inventories, paid and volunteer life experiences, and prayer are integral
components in finding a career about which you feel passionate. PUC has various resources available to
assist you in your search for a career.
CAREER INVENTORIES
- The
CAREER FINDER is a free 18-question test designed to match you with careers you might enjoy.
- The STRONG INTEREST INVENTORY is a comprehensive test
designed to identify occupational themes and careers you might
enjoy. Cost: $20. Plan one hour for the test, one hour for interpretation with
a counselor.

- CAREER WAY is an extensive online career tool to help you explore
your skills, interests, and values.
Cost: $27.95 - which
includes a three-month subscription to their site at a 30% discount for linking
through PUC. It's well worth the

provides lots of information about various careers.

- Choose "Skills Search" for a skills inventory that links to detailed information on matching
occupations. This is an excellent

PERSONALITY TESTING
- The 16 PF (Personality Factors) is an extensive
personality test. Cost: $20. Plan one hour for the test, one hour for interpretation
with a counselor.

- This is a free 18-question quiz to discover your dominant behavior
style.

- This is a free 70-question test to identify your character type. Although they ask you to pay for a more complete report, the

CAREER DAY
- Thursday, November 10, is the 25th Annual
Career Day, planned
especially for you! Career Day will begin with Colloquy at 10:00
a.m.
Over 50 consultants will be available in the Dining Commons, from
10:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. to discuss a wide range of career options.
The opportunity to reality test an occupation, is an invaluable
tool for determining if you are selecting an occupation that will
meet your personal goals, expectations, life style, and value system.
Career consultants can answer these significant questions in choosing
a career. Each of the academic departments has invited career consultants
to represent the fields PUC graduates enter after graduation. In
past years, students have made connections with career consultants
that led to employment offers.
Take time to plan ahead and come prepared to take advantage of
the tremendous opportunity Career Day represents. Below is a link

INFORMATIONAL INTERVIEWS (JOB SHADOWING)
- A
great way to discover whether you are well suited for a career is to
"shadow" someone working in that field. It can be as comfortable as going to work with a relative or
friend, or as daring as looking up a number in the yellow pages and asking if
you can visit someone at a particular company.

INTERNSHIPS
- Internships (paid or unpaid) are a great way to explore
working in a certain field. Many internship opportunities are available directly
through the major academic departments.
