Connections Service

Mission Statement: Our objective is for this service to provide opportunities for our talented and skilled students to help the community in their tangible needs.

Vision: My vision is to reach out to the nearby community using the talents of our students. Many of our students on our campus are talented and skilled in other areas than Bible studies or sharing about Jesus. Many of our wonderful ministries that are offered are aimed specifically for students that are capable of giving Bible studies or are extroverted and are comfortable sharing about Jesus. This is wonderful, but there are only a few students that are comfortable with that because it is a part of their skills. We have many students that are skilled in many other areas that that don’t fall under bible studies, but they can still be used by showing Jesus to our community. If I can provide a service where I can find out what our community needs are and match or connect these needs with students who can meet them, I believe that we can help and demonstrate the love God intended for them. At the same time, the students who normally are not involved will be blessed because I believe that all human beings have an innate need to be useful and when opportunities are not available, they find ways to do so, sometimes it’s done in the wrong ways. I want to give students to have the opportunity to feel useful and show Jesus to them. I want the community to know that we are there, that we care for them, that we are not there to convert but to help, and that we love them as Jesus has loved us.

Specific Examples: Tutoring (English, etc.), fixing cars, painting, driving to (groceries, appointments), cleaning homes, reading to the elderly, fixing things (like maintenance)

Extras: I plan to work along with non-profit organizations, the social work club, and church members, because they know people who need the help.
